I'm assuming this is a cost-cutting measure? In any event, it is most unwelcome from my perspective. I just lost access to Hoopla! And found this.thing on their website

Gave me a chuckle, if it did nothing else.)
GO EPIC BOOKS PLUS
What appears to be a much more limited/rather bizarre selection of books (Can I interest anyone in Public Sector Accounting and Accountability in Australia (2012)? One of eight biographies of Confederate general "Stonewall" Jackson? Plus two autobiographies of officers who served under him? etc.)Ĭonfusing to the point of unusable search, though I concede this might be personal unfamiliarity (The aforementioned "Stonewall" Jackson search brought up a title called Gay Like Me as one of the top results. No movies, including the Great Courses and other educational programs. Hopefully this doesn't violate Rule # 1, but I need to express how grumpy I am about this and have no one in real life to complain to who would understand. When they ask where I live I just tell them them they are right. Anyone else been or lived in small town communities like this? I am quite enamored by this small town and when I tell my friends they think I'm crazy and making it up. I returned about two weeks later and returned my books and grabbed three more and this time when i went to grab a post-it she just looked at me and said "you returned them the first time so I assume you will return them the next time as well." I feel like I've gone back in time to when things were different and people actually trusted one another on word and actions alone. I asked about getting a library card and the two ladies talking about their grandkids behind the desk just said get what i want and write my name (no last name mind you) down on a post-it note on my way out. I checked out the library first as it was the room on the left and to my surprise it had five computers with internet access open to the public and quite a few books. The post office, library, fire station and police station are all rolled into one building. I recently moved from a fairly large city of 80k+ people to a small town of 600 residents.
